Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Infrastructure Engineer with a strong background in Kubernetes architecture and server infrastructure, as well as a solid understanding of Backend API development and deployment. This role requires a blend of expertise in cloud computing, infrastructure automation, and the design and management of scalable backend services. The ideal candidate will have a passion for optimizing infrastructure for high availability, security, and performance, while also possessing the ability to develop and maintain APIs that interact with this infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Infrastructure Management and Deployment: Implement, deploy, and manage scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant server infrastructure on Kubernetes. Use Terraform and other Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools to automate the provisioning and management of infrastructure.
  • Backend API Development: Work closely with the software engineering team to design, develop, and maintain APIs. Ensure these APIs are optimized for performance and scalability and are seamlessly integrated with our server infrastructure.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of the infrastructure setup, API endpoints, deployment processes, and best practices.
  • System Monitoring and Optimization: Implement monitoring solutions for system performance and health. Analyze system metrics to identify bottlenecks and optimize the infrastructure and backend services for peak performance.
  • Security: Ensure that all aspects of the server infrastructure and APIs adhere to industry-standard security practices using OWASP/NIST. Regularly conduct security assessments and participate in security audits to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.
  • Continuous Integration and Deployment (CI/CD): Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, building, and deployment of infrastructure and backend services.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with development teams to understand their infrastructure needs and provide guidance on infrastructure best practices. Participate in the architectural design of new features with a focus on backend integration.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Python language knowledge;
  • Django, Django Rest Framework, any other Python based framework (Flask, Quant, FastAPI etc), be familiar with PostgreSQL, Redis, Dramatiq/RQ task processing;
  • Strong understanding of Kubernetes architecture and hands-on experience managing Kubernetes clusters.
  • Proficient in Terraform or similar Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
  • Experience with server infrastructure technologies (e.g., Docker, VMs, Containers, Serverless).
  • Solid background in backend API development, preferably with experience in RESTful services;
  • Familiarity with network protocols and concepts (TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, WebSockets, Routing, Load Balancing);
  • Knowledge of security best practices and tools for infrastructure and APIs.
  • Experience with monitoring and log aggregation tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack);
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications in Kubernetes, Cloud Computing Platforms (AWS) and Terraform;
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (preferably GitLab CI).
